In the Season 9 finale, after Howard Wolowitz (Simon Helberg) completes a test on the navigation system, the US Air Force contacts him via email, wanting to meet about the project. Wolowitz got freaked out and believed the Air Force could be spying on the project.
“Based on what we’ve learned and what we’ve been researching, it could be fine, but I think there is a small percentage chance that they should actually be concerned,” executive producer Steve Molaro told EW last month. “That storyline is certainly not finished. They have no choice but to see what the Air Force wants and then go from there.”
In the season premiere, after Sheldon’s father and Leonard’s mother share an evening together, everyone deals with an awkward morning the following day. Also, Penny’s family arrives for the ceremony, including her anxiety-ridden mother, Susan (guest star Katey Sagal), and her drug dealing brother, Randall (guest star Jack McBrayer).
The cast features Johnny Galecki as Leonard, Jim Parsons as Sheldon, Kaley Cuoco as Penny, Simon Helberg as Wolowitz, Kunal Nayyar as Koothrappali, Mayim Bialik as Amy, and Melissa Rauch as Bernadette.
