Supergirl is finally at home at The CW where it needs to be, and after a season 2 premiere that set records for The CW, it seems that fans are happy with the change. As is customary, The CW has followed the Supergirl premiere with a video preview of what’s to come in season 2, which you can watch above.

…Now that you’ve seen the Supergirl season 2 preview, there’s one particular moment to discuss.
Many fans have noticed that at :50 into the video, we get a shot of Superman (Tyler Hoechlin) holding a limp Supergirl in his arms, and its a shot that DC Comics fans have instantly recognized and gravitated towards. Is this our first real indicator of a “Crisis on Infinite Earths” storyline playing out in The CW’s Flarrowverse?
For those who never read DC Comics, “Crisis on Infinite Earths,” it was a major crossover event of the mid-80s, meant to straighten out the publisher’s convoluted continuity. A major part of the first “Crisis” event (there have since been several sequels) involved the deaths of both Barry Allen/The Flash and Supergirl. The Flash has long used the “Crisis” event as an over-arching part of Barry Allen’s future, but seeing this image from Supergirl suggests that Barry’s destiny could major ramifications for those around him, as well.
The Flash season 3 is already exploring the damage that Barry Allen caused to the time stream by going back and affecting the outcome of his mother’s death at the hands of the Reverse-Flash; there are already implications that the consequences of Barry’s actions could become a major threat to reality; one may even be inclined to call the temporal ripples he caused a “crisis” that needs solving.
…But will that crisis claim Kara’s life? And is her “death” the vehicle by which she gets a “rebirth” within the Flarrowverse continuity?
Supergirl airs on Mondays; The Flash airs on Tues; Arrow on Wednesday; and Legends of Tomorrow on Thursday. Each show airs at 8/7c on The CW.
