Melanie Scrofano, who plays Wynonna Earp on the Syfy series of the same name, will soon make her comic book writing debut as the co-writer on Wynonna Earp Legends: The Earp Sisters from IDW Publishing.

Scrofano will co-write the story with Wynonnna Earp creator Beau Smith, who has written the character for twenty years. Scrofano will be one of the first writers besides Smith to write Wynonna Earp for comics -- but not the first. Solicitations for Wynonna Earp Legends would reveal that Tim Rozon, Doc Holliday on the TV series, co-wrote the first two issues, which focus on his character, with Smith.

Smith took to social media today to tease the Earp Sisters story, building on enthusiasm that started yesterday when Scrofano tweeted the de facto announcement.

The Earp Sisters "legend" is notable not only for Scrofano's contribution, but because it is the comic book debut of Wynona's sister Waverly, one of the most popular characters on the show.

You can see the solicitation text below.
