The Logan trailer surpassed many expectations, with fans eagerly awaiting to see more from the anticipated film. Director James Mangold is back to doling out small and mysterious teases, and a new one surfaced earlier today.

The director shared a photo of the Liberty Motor Motel on Instagram, which shows the top edge of a building with the statue of liberty as the logo. The frame is in all black and white and fits with earlier teases like the decayed water tower that seems to ser4ve as Logan and Xavier’s current home. You can view the new photo above.

The first trailer featured a variety of imagery familiar to comic fans, including the funeral scene at the cemetery. This is indicative of much of the film from a stylistic viewpoint, and Mangold shared his thoughts on the matter.

“In modern filmmaking everything’s in close-up, so every scene there’s 150 cuts to keep track of what’s going on with every element. I’m trying on this film to set frames that are, in some way, descriptive and yes, are kind of evocative of comic-book panels and also for me classical filmmaking.”

Logan takes place in the year 2024, where mutant births have become extremely rare. The defenders of mutantkind, the X-Men, are long gone, and the only remains of them are an old and struggling Charles Xavier and a weary Logan. Logan’s vaunted healing factor has slowed, and at times doesn’t seem to work at all. When a young mutant needs his help, Logan has to unsheathe his claws once more. His job isn’t over yet.

Logan is partly based on the fan favorite Old Man Logan storyline seen in the comics, but does seem to take some cues from Cable and Hope’s storyline, where he protects her from a young age, as she is seen as the mutant savior.
