The latest Rogue One: A Star Wars Story TV spot is called "Welcome to the Rebellion." It features lead character Jyn Erso (Felicity Jones) giving inspiration to the ragtag band of fighters that will help form The Rebellion strike force that will attempt a deadly mission against The Empire's new super weapon: The Death Star.

The TV spot is, for the most part, the usual collection of footage that we've seen from director Gareth Edwards' film; however, there is one scene worth note: the revelation of a new Star Wars character!

The character is one of a handful of alien character that have been teased for Rogue One - but this one will be played by none other the acting icon Warwick Davis! Davis confirmed as much on twitter, posting the following:

The characters of Rogue One are an eclectic bunch, and that includes the alien characters. It's a tragic sort of intrigue, though, as not all these characters (maybe even few or none of them) are going to make it out of this mission alive.

It makes one wonder how Rogue One will balance the introduction of new characters with the termination of them; not to mention, how fans will react to - for the first time - getting attached to a character, only to have them taken away just as quickly. This is a franchise where even bit players like Boba Fett and Admiral Ackbar have become major icons - such is the level of the Star Wars fandom's love for the characters.
