The first season of HBO‘s Westworld was a divine thrill-ride that audiences weren’t expecting. The tale of rebellion and self-awareness was an instant phenomenon, and the show easily got renewed for a second season.
While fans are beyond excited to see where the next set of episodes takes the characters, they will have to wait a little while before they learn anything more. It was revealed that the expected release date of season two wasn’t until sometime in 2018.

This idea of waiting over a year to find out what happens next can be mind-numbing for fans, but couldn’t this be a good thing?
Luke Hemsworth, one of the stars of the show, seems to think that viewers should embrace the wait.
In and interview with Independent, the oldest Hemsworth opened up about his work on Westworld – and how incredible this opportunity has been for him. Towards the end of the interview, the topic of the season two wait was brought up. The actor wasn’t afraid to say there was a great reason behind it all.
“They are trying to get it right. They don’t want to go in doing what they were doing last time where they were under the cosh the whole time. They want to go in with a clear plan – A to Z and everything in between – at least have drafts in place.”
The showrunners – Jonathon Nolan and Lisa Joy – proved that they know exactly what they’re doing. Each moment of Westworld was well-crafted and perfectly controlled. If fans want season two to be as good, they will have to let the writers take their time.
No one wants to see a rushed version of Westworld, and the creators would hate to bring that product to their loyal fans.
