Katherine Waterston Breaks A Sweat In New Alien: Covenant Image

In less than 24 hours, 20th Century Fox will release the first trailer for Alien: Covenant — a sequel to 2012’s Prometheus and a prequel to 1979’s Alien.

While we wait for its imminent arrival, let’s check out this new behind-the-scenes image (via Empire) of Katherine Waterston as Daniels, who is rumored to be Ellen Ripley’s (Sigourney Weaver) mother. In the image itself (view in the gallery below), Waterston is brandishing a gun, sweating profusely, and receiving instructions from director Ridley Scott.

Director Ridley Scott returns to the universe he created, with ALIEN: COVENANT, a new chapter in his groundbreaking ALIEN franchise. The crew of the colony ship Covenant, bound for a remote planet on the far side of the galaxy, discovers what they think is an uncharted paradise, but is actually a dark, dangerous world — whose sole inhabitant is the “synthetic” David (Michael Fassbender), survivor of the doomed Prometheus expedition. When they uncover a threat beyond their imagination, they must attempt a harrowing escape.

The cast features Michael Fassbender, Katherine Waterston, Billy Crudup, Danny McBride, Demián Bichir, Carmen Ejogo, Amy Seimetz, Jussie Smollett, Callie Hernandez, Nathaniel Dean, Alexander England, and Benjamin Rigby.
