With Marvel’s The Inhumans now under production in Hawaii, more and more news has been filtering out about the Royal Family at the House of Ideas. Just yesterday we covered set photos captured by super sleuths on Twitter and now — comic book writer Charles Soule has said that his NuHumans characters will be making an appearance on the show this Fall.

As originally reported by Bleeding Cool, Soule was in the middle of an interview with the Coast-To-Coast Comic-Con crew when he let the news slip that some of the NuHumans characters he created would be appearing in the show. While an exact quote from the interview has yet to surface, the writer appeared to double down on the news as he retweeted an article showcasing the news from MCU Exchange.

The NuHumans is a term largely placed on Inhumans who underwent Terrigenesis — the process in which a dormant gene is activated in humans granting them superpowers — during the events of the Infinity crossover event. During the event, Black Bolt purposely unleashes a cloud of Terrigen Mist on Earth in an attempt to create a new generation of Inhumans.
So far, we’ve seen just one of Soule’s creations in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Once the writer began penning his Inhuman run in 2014, one the first villains shown was Lash, a character we’ve seen on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
Some of the more popular NuHuman characters we could see on the show include the likes of Flint, Iso, Inferno, and Grid. And while we probably won’t see her on the show — although our fingers are always crossed for it — fan-favorite character Kamala Khan is also considered a part of the NuHuman group, although she’s not a character created by Soule.
The Inhumans, a race of superhumans with diverse and singularly unique powers, were first introduced in Marvel Comics by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby in 1965. Since that time, they have grown in prominence and become some of the most popular and iconic characters in the Marvel Universe. Marvel’s The Inhumans will explore the never-before-told epic adventure of Black Bolt and the royal family.
The cast features Anson Mount as Black Bolt, Iwan Rheon as Maximus, Serinda Swan as Medusa, Ken Leung as Karnak, Eme Ikwuakor as Gorgon, Isabelle Cornish as Crystal, Mike Moh as Triton, Sonya Balmores as Auran, Ellen Woglom as Undisclosed Character, and Lockjaw as himself.
The first two episode of Marvel’s The Inhumans (directed by Roel Reine) will premiere in over 1,000 IMAX theatres across the globe — for a two-week run — starting on September 1, 2017. ABC will then premiere the weekly television series on Tuesday, September 26. Marvel’s Iron Fist showrunner Scott Buck is serving as its showrunner.
