Deadpool 2 is about to bring one of the best Marvel Comics friendships/rivalries to the big screen: the ballad of Deadpool and Cable! Casting for the live-action version of Cable has been sweeping through Hollywood for months now, with actors as big as Brad Pitt still being rumored for the part.

While the world waits to see who will be the Cable to stand alongside Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool, Marvel Comics Editor-in-Chief Axel Alonso is teasing a something that will certainly get fans buzzing!
Taking to twitter today, Alonso dropped a cryptic tweet, featuring Deadpool and Cable. There’s no confirmation right now on what, exactly, the tweet is teasing. However, Alonso made a similar cryptic tease of a Wolverine/Hulk hybrid character back in February; a few weeks later, we here at Comicbook.com helped break the new that Marvel is doing a major crossover between their Weapon X and Totally Awesome Hulk books this June.

That’s all to say: we’ll be on the lookout for whatever Cable/Deadpool crossover event Marvel is probably launching this summer.
The Deadpool sequel, which is being directed by David Leitch (John Wick, Atomic Blonde) and written by Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese, is currently in pre-production and is expected to begin filming at the end of this spring. The film will introduce Deadpool’s time-traveling mutant partner, Cable, as well as X-Force member Domino, who is being portrayed by Atlanta actress Zazie Beetz. Supporting charactersfrom the original film โ such as Colossus (voiced by Stefan Kapicic), Negasonic Teenage Warhead (Brianna Hildebrand) and taxi driver Dopinder (Karan Soni) โ are also expected to return.
Deadpool 2 is currently ranked fourth in ComicBook.com Anticipation Rankings among all scheduled comic book movies. Fans have awarded the upcoming film a 4.22/5 rating.
Deadpool 2 will arrive in theaters in 2018.
