M. Night Shyamalan continued a triumphant comeback with 2017 kick-off film, Split. That movie’s super-secret status as a sequel story set in the Unbreakable universe caught viewers by surprise, and radically increased mainstream awareness of Split and its central character, Horde (James McAvoy).

After Split‘s impressive run in theaters ($137 million domestic; $273 million worldwide), anticipation is high for the sequel film, which will presumably bring Bruce Willis’ Unbreakable David Dunn into conflict with McAvoy’s split personality serial killer, Horde (with Samuel L. Jackson’s Mr. Glass also in the mix).

Well, Shyamalan himself has been adamant about the work going into the third chapter of the Unbreakable saga, teasing fans with some epic plans of what could be. Those plans go back as far as when the filmmaker first made Unbreakablewith Horde as the villain – but now, it seems as though Shyamalan is currently topping his past ideas and creating something new, and epic, for his fans.

Check out the tease that M. Night posted on Twitter:

It’s interesting to hear Shyamalan talks about his concern for characters, plural. While Split didn’t leave us with much in the way of returning characters (only Anya Taylor-Joy’s Casey Cooke made it out alive); however, Ubreakable has plenty of supporting characters who could be put in harm’s way.

Those characters include David Dunn’s family (who he is seemingly estranged from by the time of Split): His wife Audrey (Robin Wright), and eager son – who’s now grown – Joseph (Spencer Treat Clark). More than that, there’s also Elijah Price (Jackson) and his mother (Charlayne Woodard), who could both end up as targets of Horde.

None of the above takes away from the threat that’s facing David, Elijah, and/or Horde (depending on how you look at it); as the creator who holds all these characters dear (whether good or bad), Shyamalan would be getting the feels from hurting and/or killing any one of them. Time will tell.
