The DC Extended Universe is building itself up, but the process has been one of slow progression. Man of Steel and Batman v Superman haven’t been decisive fan-favorites, and Suicide Squad even less so. DC Films is hoping for a big turnaround this year, with the release of Wonder Woman, and to larger extent, Justice League.

The Justice League team members have all been featured in the movies marketing and promotional materials – save for one. And by “one,” we mean one particular unit of heroes: The Green Lanterns.

We know that the Green Latnern Corps is getting its own movie – space cop buddy flick, starring iconic GL charactes Hal Jordan and Jon Stewart. However, when and how the Green Lanterns will be introduced to the DCEU has yet to be confirmed.

It’s been heavily rumored that a Green Lantern (or more) will be appearing in Justice League, and Superman actor Henry Cavill has only added fuel to that speculation, by trolling fans with Green Lantern teases. Now Cavill is back at it again, as he recently was having fun at the “Art of DC – Dawn of the Superheroes” exhibition in Paris, and couldn’t help once again throwing in a troll-style Green Lantern tease:

While these are in no way shape or form to be taken as a confirmation (or even strong evidence) that Green Lantern is in Justice League, Cavill has been known to put reveals out there as nonchalant statements, before their official announcement.

So, while he is definitely having fun with fan hopes, he may actually know something we don’t…

MORE JUSTICE LEAGUE

In Justice League, fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman’s selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists the help of his newfound ally, Diana Prince, to face an even greater enemy. Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to find and recruit a team of metahumans to stand against this newly awakened threat. But despite the formation of this unprecedented league of heroesโ€”Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flashโ€”it may already be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.

Justice League is directed by Zack Snyder, from a screenplay by Chris Terrio, based on a story by Snyder and Terrio, and stars Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Gal Gadot, Jason Momoa, Ezra Miller, Ray Fisher, Amy Adams, Willem Dafoe, Jesse Eisenberg, Jeremy Irons, Diane Lane, Connie Nielsen, J. K. Simmons, and Ciarรกn Hinds.

Justice League opens in theaters on Nov. 17, 2017.
