A major new rumor has popped up regarding a plot line in Avengers: Infinity War, one that has huge implications for the Guardians of the Galaxy and why they end up on Earth.

With the latest Marvel Studios crossover film currently in production, we’ve managed to get a few glimpses of the battle between Thanos and Earth’s Mightiest Heroes. Set videos and photos hint that characters from the Avengers comic book storyline Infinity will have a major part as Thanos “lieutenants.”
Prop weapons used by actors in motion-capture gear indicate that Proxima Midnight and Corvus Glaive will be among the Mad Titan’s lackeys, and this new rumor from MCU Exchange posits that they’re a bit more significant than mere allies.
The site states that Thanos’ goons will actually be his children, making them the siblings of Gamora and Nebula from the Guardians of the Galaxy.
The characters briefly mention their siblings in James Gunn’s latest film, but it was unclear just what that meant or what implications it held for future movies. Now we have a bit more motivation behind Thanos’ Black Order, who were simply just evil characters helping Thanos in his quest to obtain the Infinity Gems/Stones during their appearance in the Infinity comic storyline.
It remains to be seen just how accurate the rumor is; remember, Marvel has yet to confirm the appearance one the Black Order in the film and the production has managed to be pretty secretive despite filming in public venues.
Are Gamora and Nebula sisters of the Black Order? Or something else? Did Thanos forcefully “adopt” the other members of his goon squad as well? We’ll find out when Avengers: Infinity War premieres May 4, 2018.
