We’ve already seen a lot of stories on the potential roster changes that are incoming for Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite, but that hasn’t stopped data miners from digging into the game’s recently released Story Demo to see further proof of what’s coming down the line. And, if this is true, it could spell bad news for X-Men fans that have enjoyed long-time mainstays of the series like Magneto and Wolverine.

According to this breakdown from Reddit, the below image indicates what the roster could look like. However, more interestingly, it made note that a lot of the game’s forthcoming DLC will actually be on the game’s disc and data files, meaning that you’re basically paying for something that’s already packaged in there. Granted, this isn’t really a change from past DLC we’ve seen in other Capcom games, but it could be alarming news for some fans.
And to further solidify what the data miners found, it appears that a roster listing shows what fighters are coming to the series โ and what aren’t. It kind of contradicts previous reports we had on the game, but this could very well be how the roster turns out, according to the files:
Capcom
- Arthur
- Chris Redfield
- Chun-Li
- Dante
- Firebrand
- Frank West
- Hunter (perhaps from Monster Hunter)
- Jedah
- Mega Man X
- Mike Haggar
- Morrigan Aensland
- Nathan Spencer
- Nemesis
- Ryu
- Sigma (DLC)
- Strider Hiryu
- Zero
Marvel
- Black Panther (DLC)
- Captain America
- Captain Marvel
- Doctor Strange
- Dormammu
- Gamora
- Ghost Rider
- Hawkeye
- Hulk
- Iron Man
- Nova
- Rocket Raccoon
- Spider-Man
- Thanos
- Thor
- Ultron
- Venom
- Winter Soldier
Now, the data files are below, and they’re a bit hard to look over if you’re not into the whole data mining thing, but, if this roster does hold true, we won’t be seeing any X-Men characters in the game. While that does give others a chance to shine in the spotlight, this will no doubt be a disappointment for those that were expecting a Mango Sentinel to make its return.
Again, this is not official, and Capcom hasn’t introduced the entire roster yet, so the next few months are going to be interesting. For now, take this with a grain of salt.
Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite releases on September 19th for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC.
