Thor: Ragnarok is getting the finishing touches ahead of its premiere in November, with Black Panther to follow in February, and then the highly anticipated Avengers: Infinity War will hit in May, 2018. Marvel is promising that will be the first in a two-part Avengers saga, with the next movie set to debut in 2019.
It might be more than two years down the line, but the Marvel Studios president is already planning the company’s first movie after Avengers 4, and it’s going to promise more wall-crawling action.
In an interview with JoBlo, Feige stated that Marvel is “just starting to solidify our plans for [Spider-Man] Homecoming 2 โ we won’t call it that, whatever it is โ which is exciting because it’ll be the first MCU movie after untitled Avengers in 2019.”
We always knew Homecoming was going to get a sequel as a part of Marvel’s deal with Sony, including the intention to produce a trilogy. But to know that the second film is already in the planning stages with a firm plan for a release date is pretty exciting.

“It’ll be the way Civil War informed everything in Homecoming,” Feige said of the Spider-Man sequel’s relation to Avengers 4, “those movies will launch him off into a very new cinematic universe at that point.”
It’s pretty exciting to see hear about Marvel’s plans for post-Phase 3 movies starting to come into fruition, especially given how much of it hinges on the events of Avengers: Infinity War and its untitled sequel. Marvel is also gearing up for production on Ant-Man and the Wasp as well as Captain Marvel.
We can’t wait to learn more about Spider-Man’s continued adventures in the MCU, but for now, we’re pretty excited to see him take on the Vulture and the rest of his technology-hoarding goons.
Spider-Man: Homecoming will debut in theaters on July 7.
