The Flash‘s fourth season debuted last week and for all of the changes that Team Flash had to deal with one thing stayed the same — Cisco’s eclectic t-shirts.

One of the constants of the show since it premiered in 2014, Cisco Ramon (Carlos Valdes) wears a humorous t-shirt, often with a pop culture reference, in nearly every episode. While the shirts are perfectly fitting of the geeky, exuberant Cisco they are also an enjoyable treat for fans of the CW superhero drama.
And with the series in its fourth season some distinct patterns have started to arise in exactly what fun t-shirts Cisco wears — spoiler alert, it includes cats.
Check out our roundup of some of Cisco’s most memorable (and some of our favorite) t-shirts on The Flash.
Don’t Take Me To Your Leader
In the fourth season premiere, ‘The Flash Reborn’, Cisco kicks off the new season — and tries to keep Central City safe in the absence of The Flash — with a t-shirt featuring an alien declaring “Don’t Take Me To Your Leader.” Condsidering Cisco’s grasp of pop culture references the shirt could mean literally anything, but it might also be a fun throwback to last season’s crossover where the team had to deal with actual aliens — the Dominators — who really did want to take Barry to their leader.
Dinosaurs vs. Robots vs. Aliens
In season one’s ‘Rogue Time’ Captain Cold (Wentworth Miller) and Heat Wave (Dominic Purcell) return to Central City and they Cold’s sister Lisa (Peyton List) in tow to help them wreak havoc. Of course, Cisco has a soft spot for bad girls and ended up with a little crush on Lisa but bad romantic choices aside he maintined his signature style with this sweet “Dinosaurs vs. Robots vs. Aliens” shirt. Interestingly, Team Flash has since dealth with alien and robot threats. All they need to check of now are dinosaurs.
Drop It DJ Catbug
Another classic from the first season, this shirt from “Things You Can’t Outrun” may feature a lightearted DJ Catbug dropping sweet beats, but it’s one of the only lighthearted things from the episode. ‘Things You Can’t Outrun’ had a lot of heavy moments, with Caitlin opening up about Ronnie, Joe finally visiting Henry Allen in Iron Heights all while The Flash battles a dangerous metahuman with toxic gas powers called The Mist.
Here’s Kitty!
Last season’s episode ‘Shade’ may have marked the first appearance of Savitar, but it also featured Cisco wearing this playful cat version of the Jack Nicholson’s “Here’s Johnny!” from The Shining. It’s just one of many fun cat-themed shirt Cisco wears in the show.
This Is My Spot
Cisco is a big fan of geek and popular culture and not only does that come out with his clever names for Team Flash’s villains, but it also shows up on his t-shirts. Cisco wears this Big Bang Theory shirt in season one’s ‘Crazy For You.’ Interestingly, this episode actually features a villain we saw in the fourth season premiere — the teleporting thief Peek-a-Boo.
Dead or Alive
Keeping with Cisco’s clever cat t-shirt theme, the shirt he wears in tonight’s ‘Mixed Signals’ isn’t just funny like “Here’s Kitty” or “DJ Catbug” before it. Tonight’s shirt is scientific as well, with a clever play on the Schrodinger’s Cat thought paradox that suggests that one problem with a specific application interpretation of quantum mechanics is that the cat could be simultaneous both alive and dead.
It’s a complicated piece of scientific theory to explain or even understand with even Schrodinger himself writing about how one can “set up quite ridiculous cases” when it comes to experimentation, but the concept frequently shows up in popular culture and, in this case, on yet another awesome Cisco shirt.
