Anime is a medium that tends to bring people together. Whether it’s through communities being created within the fandom or uniting enthusiasts for individual franchises, sometimes the medium can bring people together in holy matrimony! Recently, the Japanese pop singer LiSA announced that she will be marrying Tatsuhisa Suzuki, an anime voice actor who has brought to life characters such as Noctis from Sony’s Final Fantasy XV and Makoto from the swimming anime that is Free!

Both LiSA and Tatsuhisa released individual statements on their upcoming nuptials, with both clearly excited for their special day. LiSA’s statement quoted that Tatsuhisa was instrumental in helping her during her times of extreme stress, and will continue loving her fans for their support.
Tatsuhisa released a statement as well, breaking down how the couple had originally met:
“We met under various coincidences, laughing and singing about the trivial things in our daily lives. If there was anything we didn’t understand, we would work it out together, respecting each other’s opinions and forming tight bonds. The happiness in my daily life became more natural. This made me want to continue to grow up with her in the future.”
LiSA is no stranger to the world of anime herself as she has created theme songs for series such as Sword Art Online, Demon Slayer, and My Hero Academia to name a few. It will definitely be interesting to see if these two lovebirds intersect in the world of anime moving forward following their tying of the knot.
As mentioned earlier, the world of anime isn’t unfamiliar with weddings between the creative minds of the medium. In fact, the creators of Sailor Moon and Hunter x Hunter has gotten married, finding that they had a lot in common while working in the medium. Gon’s creator, Togashi, and Serena’s originator, Naoko Takeuchi, have a long and loving history, with the Hunter x Hunter series even having a nod to the Sailor Scout franchise.
