With Sakura captured, Sasuke, Naruto, Sarada, and Cho-Cho seek the help of Orochimaru, as he still maintains connections with the underworld. The former villain and founder of the Hidden Sound will assist the team, as they try to save their friend, mother, and wife.
This will be the first appearance Orochimaru has made since the end of Naruto Shippuden when he played a crucial part in Sasuke’s story and as a gag-character in the final episodes.
Orochimaru is one of the three Legendary Sanin and one of the strongest Ninja’s to ever live. Originally, he was a loyal Konoha ninja, before being consumed by evil ambitions that caused him to leave the village. Engrossed in hatred, Orochimaru joined the Akatsuki and later attacked Konoha, killing the third Hokage and fourth Kazekage.
Orochimaru was later killed by Sasuke and sealed by Itachi when he was resurrected. However, he would not remain dead, after being resurrected for the second time by Sasuke, although, this time he chose to help Konoha. Orochimaru somehow changed and used his reanimation jutsu to bring the first four Hokage back to life and assist in the Fourth Great Shinobi War.
As a result, Orochimaru was pardoned for all crimes; however, he remains under the watchful eye of captain Yamato. Orochimaru has changed and now has a child in Mitsuki, who is training in Konoha and has befriended Boruto. This will be the first time fans will see Orochimaru in the Boruto series, with the preview for episode 22 being below.
