Chainsaw Man is bringing everyone’s favorite simping protagonist, Denji, to the big screen this Fall with Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc, and the latest promo has highlighted the two women battling for Denji’s affection (and his powers). Fans of Tatsuki Fujimoto’s bonkers manga can’t wait for Chainsaw Man: Reze Arc. While the ongoing Shonen Jump+ manga is insanely popular in its own right, MAPPA’s anime adaptation took that fandom through the roof, thanks to its phenomenal animation and action. To call Chainsaw Man a romance series would certainly be a step too far, but the new promo for Chainsaw Man: Reze Arc is putting the battle for Denji’s heart (again, literally) front and center.

The latest issue of Men’s Non-no magazine, which often focuses on fashion and lifestyle, features Chainsaw Man‘s two most manipulative characters on the front cover. The already fan favorite femme fatale, Makima, and the soon-to-be fan favorite villain, Reze, both grace the cover. Their busts (shoulders and head, not the other meaning of the word) are shown on the cover in the style of a monochrome playing card, with Makima’s red hair and Reze’s purple locks standing out against the black background. More appropriately, the words “World End, Girlfriend” are written in a circle around the pair. The trailers for Chainsaw Man: Reze Arc have already shown off some more risque shots of Makima and Reze (utilising the other meaning of the word “bust”), but the new look at the pair highlights the rivalry that will form between the two in the film.
Who Actually Is Reze in the Chainsaw Man movie?

Her face is on the poster, her name is in the title, and she’s everywhere in the trailers, but who actually is Reze in Chainsaw Man? While fans of Fujimoto’s manga know all too well what’s about to happen in the film, anime-only viewers might be slightly confused as to why this brand-new character is being given such a heavy spotlight.
This would normally be preceded by a spoiler warning, but the trailers have already given it away, so here goes: Reze is one of the strongest villains in the Chainsaw Man anime so far. While Makima is desperately hunting the Gun Devil, Reze is the Bomb Devil. The trailers have shown off her human form, as well as her devil form, where her head transforms, and the ring on her choker becomes the pin for a bomb. Unsurprisingly, that’s the most normal character design in Chainsaw Man: Reze Arc, as another shot from the trailers shows Denji riding on a giant shark (because, why not?).
Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc opens in US theaters on October 29th.
