Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle Has Disappointing Update for Fans Waiting for Part 2

Just two months after its domestic release, Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle released its first part in the U.S. theaters, and fans can’t stop singing praises of this incredible film. The animation, the storyboarding, the fights, and even the OSTs are all some of the best of all time, which justifies the phenomenal success of the film. The Infinity Castle Arc will be adapted into an epic film trilogy, with the first part commencing the epic showdown between the Corps members and the demons. While Muzan has been injected with a dangerous poison, the other demons are on the move to annihilate the Corps after the death of their leader, Kagaya Ubuyashiki.

Aside from the Upper Ranks, even the other demons are powerful enough to be Lower Ranks, a strategy formed by Muzan to wear out the Demon Slayers quickly. While the first part features three major battles, it also sets up several plot points left to be explored in Part 2. There have been no announcements about the upcoming part so far, and the franchise has just missed a major opportunity to share at least one update on Part 2, leaving fans to wait and speculate on the next movie’s release window.

The Aniplex Online Fest 2025 (a major annual event streaming on YouTube across the globe) was held on the same weekend as the U.S. release of the first part of Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle. The official website already announced in August that the event would share the latest anime information and deliver a digest of the anime’s developments. It was the first major global event since the film’s release, so expectations were high, with thousands of viewers waiting to hear major updates about their favorite anime โ€“ especially after it was revealed that Demon Slayer would take over the event’s opening sequence.

Unfortunately, the entire sequence of Demon Slayer was simply a large-scale promotional event without sharing anything about the final parts of the trilogy. Since the first part has only recently been released, the promotions are still in full swing without so much as giving us even a minor hint about the release window of Infinity Castle Part 2.

It’s highly likely that Ufotable won’t reveal any major updates for at least a few weeks, as long as the anime is still showing in the theaters. Demon Slayer has taken over the world; millions of people have already watched the film, and the number keeps rising. It’s already the most successful anime film in Japan, and now that it has made its global debut, it’s quickly climbing the charts. In fact, Infinity Castle is steadily on its way to even surpassing the Mugen Train film and becoming the highest-grossing anime film in the world. The story is going to get even more intense from this point on, and Part 2 has a lot of thrilling fights and tragic moments that will once again break our hearts.
