When it comes to Dragon Ball Super, you have to feel bad for Vegeta. The Saiyan may be Goku’s sworn rival, but the prince never seems to catch up to the other’s power level. Fans were able to see how far Goku had surpassed Vegeta shortly after Dragon Ball Super started, and Funimation just released a clip of the scene.

Over on Youtube, Funimation shared a clip from Dragon Ball Super‘s first Blu-ray/DVD release. The home video is the first to bring the anime‘s English dub to fans, and the clip above shows one fight scene is houses.

“It’s god vs god when Super Saiyan God Goku faces the God of Destruction Beerus! See the TV version of the epic showdown!” Funimation writes.

In the video, which can be seen above, fans are greeted by Vegeta as he looks into the sky. The Saiyan has a serious face on as he tries to keep an eye on Goku’s fight with Beerus, and Whis helps Vegeta out by giving him a close-up view.

When the scene changes, Goku is shown powered into his Super Saiyan God form up in outer space. The hero is trying to locate Beerus, and when the pair do greet one another, they decided to do away with the “cheap tricks” they’ve been using. Goku and Beerus then move apart and power up by harnessing the energy of their yells and grunts. When the two eventually exchange hits, and their powers clash violently enough to blow away the energy auras surrounding Goku and Beerus.

So, maybe it’s a good thing Vegeta did stay planet-side…

The synopsis of Dragon Ball Super‘s current saga can be read here: “According to an invitation that Goku gets, Zen-Oh (Omni King) is starting a martial arts tournament between all the universes called “Chikara no Taikai” (Tournament of Power). But it is the beginning of universal destruction. Something awaits the winners and losers of this tournament. What will become of this fierce team battle between each universe’s elite warriors?

Dragon Ball Super‘s “Universal Survival” saga is part of the recent simulcast agreement that sites like Crunchyroll and Funimation have scored. Dragon Ball Super airs on Crunchyroll Saturdays at 7:15 p.m. CST. Toonami airs the English dub on Adult Swim Saturdays at 11:30 p.m.
