It’s never easy to say goodbye to a teammate, and Universe 7 just learned that the hard way. Dragon Ball Super is only few episodes into the Tournament of Power, but Goku’s team has already been forced to part ways with Krillin after his stunning disqualification.

Dragon Ball Super returned this weekend with its 99th episode, and the new installment did not bode well for Krillin. The episode began easily enough as the martial artist teamed up with his wife Android 18 against some threats from Universe 4. The husband-wife duo took on the warrior Majora towards the episode’s end, and Krillin managed to outwit the foxy character with his quick-thinking. And – well – his smelly shoes also helped.

Using Majora’s keen sense of smell against him, Krillin throws one of his shoes at the fighter to cloud the Universe 4 fighter’s powers. The gap gives Krillin enough time to knock out Majora from the tournament’s area and make him a victor. The win is a clever one, leaving Krillin to celebrate the event despite having been chastised by his wife. However, the victory dance all comes to an end when Frost from Universe 6 struts into play.

Frost does something which would make Freeza in Universe 7 proud to call him his mirror. Frost zooms in and knocks Krillin out of bounds while the guy is celebrating, and he manages to escape before Android 18 can retaliate. Having been disqualified, Krillin is sent back to the stands where Beerus and the Universe 7 gods wait for him. Shin tries his best to comfort the wallowing fighter, but even the Supreme Kai can’t bring himself to totally console Krillin. After all, the god is now down one fighter, and the Tournament of Power only promises to get more brutal from here on out.
