‘Dragon Ball Super’ Finally Pitted Piccolo Against Its New Namekians

It's been a long time coming, but Dragon Ball Super finally roped in its new Namekians last night. Fans have known the race would make a comeback during the Tournament of Power thanks to Universe 6, but Piccolo just got the chance to meet his mirrors during the anime's latest episode.
Dragon Ball Super's 111th episode was rightly preoccupied with Hit and Jiren, but the pair weren't the only two fighters shown. At one point, fans were brought back to Goku as the Saiyan crawled up a massive pillar to watch Jiren fight the Universe 6 assassin. Goku was so invested in the battle that he failed to notice two presences behind him as they charged up an attack to end the Saiyan.
Like any good fighters, the Namekians saw an opening to take down Goku while he was weakened - but their attacks ultimately failed. The two shot off their energy blasts towards Goku, but Piccolo and Gohan intercepted the attacks before facing the Namekians head on.
Piccolo doesn't seem shocked to see some other Namekians in the event, but the same cannot be said for the Universe 6 fighters. The two look rattled by Piccolo's sudden appearance, but their hesitation doesn't last for long. When Gohan and Piccolo get into their fighting stances, the Universe 6 warriors liven up and charge forward just before the Universe 7 warriors do the same.
Fans learned Universe 6 would debut its own Namekians back in August, but the fighters were only introduced officially this weekend. Previous roster charts for the Tournament of Power did confirm the duo's names are Saoneru and Pirina, so Piccolo will hopefully get to learn them for himself before he rings them out of the event. Gohan and Piccolo tag-teaming against the pair is not an ideal situation for the Universe 6 fighters, but the Namekians may have an ace up their sleeve yet. If Saoneru and Pirina choose to fuse and take on Piccolo, the battle's odds will be tipped in the Universe 6 fighters' favor.
Dragon Ball Super airs on Crunchyroll Saturdays at 7:15 p.m. CST. Toonami also airs the English dub on Adult Swim Saturdays at 11:30 p.m.
