Even though it’s been a long time coming, but fans still are not ready to part ways with Fairy Tail. The shonen series has been around since August 2006, but creator Hiro Mashima is now bidding the work farewell. Over on Twitter, the artist just confirmed he has finished the long-running manga ahead of its scheduled finale.

Taking to social media, Mashima confirmed work on Fairy Tailwrapped with a touching picture. The artist posted a photo of a glass plaque given to him to commemorate the 11 years he spent drawing the series.

“Today, all the staff’s work ended, but I received such a wonderful thing to commemorate [the series’] completion,” Mashima captioned the image. “I appreciate it. The staff is the best. Thank you for your hard work.”

The crystal plaque is a simple one, but it will tug at the heartstrings of fans. The circular piece looks almost like a tombstone with the name ‘Fairy Tail’ and its run dates engraved upon it. Drawings of Natsu, Happy, and Lucy are all featured in the center of the plaque, and ‘Hiro Mashima’ is printed at the bottom.

There’s no announced end-date for Fairy Tail just yet, but fans know time with the series is running out. Weekly Shonen Jump continues to roll out new chapters each week, and Mashima made it clear Fairy Tail would wrap with volume 63. The manga released its 62nd volume over in the U.S. this July, and reports suggest Fairy Tail‘s final volume will go up for sale by November 28th.
