It's hard to not fall in love with the cute girls from the hit anime Kemono Friends. If you aren't familiar with the show, it is a recent anime that has been a huge hit in Japan. It features a cast of zoo animals that are magically turned into moe girls. Anime fans have become obsessed with the cute animals turned girls and the characters can be seen all over Japan. One zoo in Japan has even brought the adorable girls into the park itself. The Tobu Zoo in Saitama has set up around 60 cutouts of the characters from the anime throughout the entire park, in and around the exhibits, and even has the voice actors from the show doing park announcements. Overall, most of the animals were unaffected by the new friends, but one Penguin has fallen deeply in love with one of the 2-D characters.

Grape-kun is a penguin from the Tobu Zoo that has been gaining some major attention on Japanese Twitter, as it seems he has fallen deeply in love with one of the cut-outs from Kemono Friends. A cutout of Hululu, an adorable penguin girl the show, has taken a temporary residence in the penguin exhibit, and Grape-kun doesn't seem to mind. In fact, the penguins love for the cut-out has became so deep, that he became obsessive. The zoo's twitter has told the romantic tale starting with the one below:

"He really does like her. Today too, He's been staring at her since morning." Grape-kun couldn't keep his eyes off the 2-D beauty, as he continued to stare at her day by day. He became so obsessed with her that he literally wouldn't stop staring. He was lovesick, and would not eat because he couldn't stop starting. The care giver of Grape-kun had to step in and separate the love birds as they were worried about the animals health. He was isolated away from his love, left with a broken heart.

But this was not the end of the story of the unlikely lovers. As it looks like Grape-kun was released from his isolation and he immediately took the courtship to the next level. The penguin decided to make a movie on his distant lover, showing off in front of her and attempting to court the cut out (caught in the picture below).

This is not the end the romantic tale of Grape-kun and Hululu. The zoo will be keeping the promotion with Kemono Friends until late June. So we will have to wait and see what happens when Grape-kun realizes, his love isn't real.
