If you have been keeping up with Samurai Jack and its much-loved comeback, then you know the warrior had a major moment over the weekend. The seventh episode of Samurai Jack‘s fifth season saw Jack reunite with a long-lost friend and get ride of a reminder of his past. Fans watched as Jack embarked on a mind-bending quest which led him to face his inner rage. And, when he left, Jack found himself filled with inner peace – but that’s not all.

No, Jack also got his sword back. Arguably, the weapon is a bit more important to Jack than peace if he still wants to take down Aku.

When Samurai Jack returned for its fifth season, fans were stunned to learn the hero had lost his iconic samurai sword. The time-traveling hero took great pride in his swordsmanship skills in past seasons, so the weapon’s absence was felt hard by fans. Jack being swordless only further cemented his dark, troubled attitude. So, it’s no surprise to see fans are happy the weapon has finally returned to its rightful owner.

And, what’s more, Jack even had to shave his scraggly beard to wield it.

With his internal strife soothed, Jack had to give up his beard as it was a painful reminder of the last few years he lived in desolation. The samurai was quick to shave his beard and bring back his clean-shaven mug. Jack even gave himself a needed haircut to tame his dark locks after a few years of neglect. The hero had his bum look altered by three gods who felt it was time for Jack to embrace a chance. Ra, Odin, and Indra allowed the warrior to reunite with his sword only after Jack realized he played a role in its disappearance.

Once Jack came to terms with the truth, the gods were ready to give the hero a makeover. Still, there are plenty of fans mourning the sudden loss of Jack’s beard even if they are glad he has got his sword back. There was just something about the hero’s uncharacteristically rugged look that got audiences going.
