Shawn Lealos is a comics, movies, and TV writer for ComicBook.com and has been a professional writer since 1996, and has written online since 2005. He is a journalist, film critic, and member of the Oklahoma Film Critics Circle, with work published on various entertainment websites, including Chud, CBR, 411mania, Yahoo, and Screen Rant, among others.
Shawn graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a Bachelor’s Degree in Professional Writing and a minor in Film & Video Studies. He has been reading comics since he was very young and has always had a soft spot for heroes like Spider-Man, Moon Knight, and the Fantastic Four. Although he wasn’t allowed to watch movies as a child, he fell in love with the medium when he left for college, with his first theatrical movie being Tim Burton’s Batman.
Shawn is also a huge proponent of physical media and has a DVD/Blu-ray/4K collection that is now well over 3,000 in total. While this includes a massive Criterion Collection lineup, his first love remains comic book movies and TV shows, where he never misses a release and loves almost everything, even those releases that other fans seem to hate.
