Castle Graphic Novel

The ABC TV show Castle is leaping off the screen into comic book pages. Marvel Entertainment and ABC Studios have announced a hardcover graphic novel called Castle: Richard Castle's Deadly Storm. The Castle graphic novel will be 112 pages, and it will be released in comic book shops and bookstores on September 28th, 2011. In an interesting bit of cross-promotion, Richard Castle (as played by Nathan Fillion) will reveal the cover of the Castle graphic novel on the season finale of Castle on Monday, May 16, 2011. The Castle season finale is called "Knockout" and will air starting at 10 PM ET on the ABC Television Network. As Castle viewers know, Richard Castle achieved celebrity author status with the success of his Derrick Storm mystery novels. The adventure of Derrick Storm will be told in the Castle graphic novel. "I am honored and humbled to see Derrick Storm join the ranks of some of the greatest heroes of all-time," said Richard Castle. "Being a part of the Marvel family is a childhood fantasy come true for me." Castle: Richard Castle's Deadly Storm will be co-written by Brian Michael Bendis and Kelly Sue DeConnick. The interior art will be by Lan Medina with cover art by Carlo Pagulayan. "We are incredibly excited to be partnering with marvel to bring Richard Castle's early literary works to life," said Andrew W. Marlowe, who is the creator/executive producer of Castle. "It's a great way to expand the Castle universe for all our fans." "It's exciting to bring the Derrick Storm novels to life for the first time ever" said Axel Alonso, Marvel Entertainment Editor in Chief. "Whether you're new to the world of Castle or a long time fan, there's something for everyone in Castle: Richard Castle's Deadly Storm—and it's the kind of book that reaffirms Marvel's commitment to creating new fans of comic books."
