Transformers 4, having cast Mark Wahlberg as the second lead in the film, has zeroed in on a handful of candidates to play his daughter, the nominal main character, and her boyfriend, a third lead, and will do readings this week, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The magazine claims the film "has a story that centers on Wahlberg's character and his daughter. In addition, the daughter's boyfriend, a race car driver, is the third lead in the film." They further claim that the studio doesn't anticipate wrapping up the franchise after the fourth film, even though director Michael Bay won't be back for more. Instead, they want to nail down potential stars to a three-picture deal.

They also say that screen tests and chemistry reads begin this week, with The Last Airbender's Nicola Peltz and Carrie's Gabriella Wilde squaring off against a pair of relative unknowns with nevertheless impressive pedigrees--Abbie Cornish's sister Isabelle and Andie Macdowells daughter Margaret Quallay.

The article also claims that Taken 2's Luke Grimes is testing against Terra Nova's Landon Liboiron, Blue Lagoon: The Awakening's Brenton Thwaites, Weeds's Hunter Parrish and newcomer Jack Reynor for the role of the racecar-driving boyfriend.
