Over the weekend, the Batmobile sold for $4.62 million, and set of Django Unchained action figures went for $2,750 on eBay. Both sales represented huge returns for the seller, based on what they originally paid for the items. Django Unchained action figures were originally selling for $39.99 each, so a complete set of eight figures would have run $319.92. In itself that might sound like an expensive price for action figures, but they were designed with great detail and targeted to the adult collector market. After threats of a boycott from Al Sharpton's National Action Network and Project Islamic Hope, the Weinstein Company asked the toy manufacturer to discontinue the action figures. There were reportedly only around 1,000 sets released, which has made the toy very rare. Not surprisingly eBay sellers immediately started asking several thousand for sets of the action figures, but what is surprising is people are actually paying that price. A full set of eight Django Unchained action figures went for $2,750 over the weekend, and there are several sets currently bid over $2,500. Even more surprising is a Broomhilda figure by itself went for $2,495. Quite a big return for collectors who picked them up when they were only $39.99 each.
