Would you believe that Image Comics co-founder Rob Liefeld is writing a screenplay based on his years in the comics industry and, in particular, the founding of Image Comics? As strange as it seems, Liefeld has apparently got quite a bit of work and thought into the project, with pages from the screenplay and a full cast list (as he sees it) posted at Dream Movie Cast. Here's how they describe it:

Actually, he's not keeping any of it to himself. Liefeld documented everything he's experienced during his 27 years in the industry in his memoir: the good, the bad and the ugly. Somewhere along the way he converted parts of it into a 100 page screenplay that covers the highs and lows of that journey thus far. Today we're able to bring you 3 excerpts from his screenplay (all confirmed to be the real deal by the man himself), tentatively titled Icons, followed by his dream casting picks of key people for a feature film adaptation (some might surprise you).

Twenty years after founding Image Comics, Chris Pine and Christian Bale as himself and Todd McFarlane; former Superman candidate Joe Mangeniello as Marc Silvestri, Rob Corddry as Erik Larsen and John Cho as Jim Lee. The small-scale Star Trek reunion aside, some of the photos they've got for these and other casting ideas that Liefeld has seem pretty on the nose. The pages offered up as a sample of the work include Liefeld's break with Marvel Comics, his introduction to Todd McFarlane and his meeting with Eazy-E. What do you think--would you watch a movie or miniseries based on Rob Liefeld's version of the last thirty years in comics?
