At today’s Superior Spider-Man Panel at the Chicago Comics and Entertainment Expo (C2E2), Marvel Comics confirmed long-rumored plans to bring Spider-Man 2099 to the current era under writer Dan Slott.Slott appeared via video at the convention (embedded below), saying that “Miguel O’Hara is coming to the pages of Superior Spider-Man. It’s not a trick, this is really happening.”Of course, he’s referencing a previous move he’d made on Twitter, “leaking” a “private” message between himself and artist Ryan Stegman that implied O’Hara was going to replace Peter Parker, back before Amazing Spider-Man #700 had been released and the identity of the Superior Spider-Man revealed.Stegman will draw the arc, which begins in September’s Superior Spider-Man #17. He told fans that there was no need to alter the look of the character at all, since the visual designed in the ’90s is so strong.
