When Henry Cavill landed the role of Superman in Man Of Steel, one might suspect that he would have turned to fellow British actor and DC Comics superhero Christian Bale for advice. However, it turns out that instead of reaching out to fellow Justice League member Batman, Henry Cavill actually connected with a Marvel Comics superhero.Even though another British actor plays Spider-Man, Andrew Garfield wasn’t who Cavill asked advice from either. Instead, the Man Of Steel turned to an Australian actor and member of The Avengers. According to an interview on Shortlist.com, Cavill reached out to the mighty Thor. Cavill said, “I did briefly speak to Chris Hemsworth at Comic Con, who played Thor. I just walked up to him and said, ‘Mate, I wanted to say hi, my name is Henry, I’m playing Superman. What’s it like?’ He said ‘Don’t worry about it. The fans are a lot more supportive than you think. They’re behind you the whole way, so just enjoy it.’ He’s a really nice bloke.”Who would have thought that Superman would have gone to an Avenger for advice? Could fans ever hope to see a Superman and Thor team-up movie? Not likely, considering that Disney owns the rights to the Avengers characters, and Warner Bros. owns the rights to the Justice League characters, but fans can always dream. The Man Of Steel is scheduled to be released at movie theaters in the United States on June 14, 2013.
