Amazing Spider-Man 2 Producer Ducks the Question of Another Marvel Hero in the Film

Will another Marvel Comics hero appear in Sony's The Amazing Spider-Man 2? Honestly, it hadn't even particularly occurred to us; what does Sony even own these days--Ghost Rider? We suppose characters like Venom and the Scarlet Spider could be considered, but it's not like this is the X-Men universe over at Fox. Still, during a Q&A session with fans, longtime Marvel/Sony producer Avi Arad was asked whether another Marvel hero could show up in the film and...well, he evaded the question in an interesting and potentially telling way. "I'd rather not answer that at this point," Arad said. "This is what the word 'spoiler' means. We want to always leave the audience with a couple of surprises. All of a sudden, you feel like, yeah, there's a continuity. So if we say today how we go about it, we'd take away from the surprise of the movie."
