Hugh Jackman as The Wolverine

Whether Hugh Jackman will ever return to play Wolverine again following the end of his contract with X-Men: Days of Future Past is still up in the air but for the second time in less than a week, we've got confirmation that the rumored $100 million offer made to Jackman to bring him back for more movies is untrue. Last time, a rep for Jackman poo-pooed the reports; this time, it's Jackman himself moving to kill the rumors before they get any more out of control. "No it's not true," Jackman told Entertainment Weekly. "I would never do that. I've never done that mainly because, for the fans and for me, each time I've gone around there's been a really good reason to do it and I don't know what that reason is from here. I'm in the middle of making this and I just promoted the other and I'm really happy with the way The Wolverine came out." That "I don't know what the reason is" is something he's said before, and it's been widely considered an insinuation that he might not return, but as he also says, he's seen a reason to do each previous outing, even the ones nobody particularly liked, so odds are good that a director with a good enough idea could sell him on returning. All he's saying here is that he's not going to do it exclusively for the money.
