For over the last week, rumors have been swirling on the Internet that Bryan Cranston had signed a six picture deal with Warner Bros. to play Lex Luthor. Several reputable news sites picked up these rumors and reported them as fact, which had many fans believing it was a done deal that Bryan Cranston had been cast. Fans were so excited by the news that they even created trailers for a Batman Vs. Superman movie with Bryan Cranston, Ben Affleck and Henry Cavill.Even though many sites were leery of the rumors, the fact that neither Warner Bros. or Bryan Cranston had commented on the rumors also had many wondering if they could be true. It’s not unusual for studios to refuse to address rumors, because then people could figure out real news by which rumors they refused to deny. However, the actors or actresses involved in the rumors often do deny untrue rumors. In an interview with the Boston Globe, Bryan Cranston has finally denied that there is any truth to the rumors. In regards to the six picture deal rumors, Cranston laughed, “I’ve heard that too. Six? This is all news to me. I think that maybe my name is bandied about because I’m known to be bald. ‘What bald guy can we get?’ The reality is they can take any actor and shave his head or put a bald cap on him.”While denying that he’s signed a six picture deal as reported, Cranston did sort of leave the door open though for the possibility of signing a deal in the future. Cranston said, “I think I’ll relax the rest of the year. There’s some irons in the fire, things that people are talking about, but nothing is set.”
