Star Wars Episode VII Script Still Not Finished, Possible $200 Million Budget

Walt Disney Studios chairman Alan Horn spoke this morning at Variety's dealmaker breakfast, and one of Variety's writers live-tweeted a summary of what Horn had to say. With J.J. Abrams and Lawrence Kasdan recently taking over the script writing for Star Wars Episode VII from Michael Arndt, it should probably come as no surprise that the Star Wars Episode VII script is still not finished. However, Horn revealed that Disney expects to receive the completed script for Star Wars Episode VII in January. While no official budget has been set for Star Wars Episode VII, Horn indicated that Disney would not be surprised in the film cost $200 million. While Disney has already revealed that they planned to release a new Star Wars movie every year after Star Wars Episode VII, Horn reiterated that this is still the plan. Star Wars Episode VII is set to be released in movie theaters on December 18, 2015.
