According to our friends at KSite,at least three named characters are already being cast for NBC's upcoming Constantine pilot, in addition to John Constantine, himself. These are just names that were floated--there's no detailed casting breakdown, so we don't know if Constantine will be English or American, whether existing supporting characters will have a major overhaul, etc.--but one name on the list pops out, for sure. That would be Chas, likely Frank William "Chas" Chandler, who first popped up in Hellblazer #1 and is Constantine's driver and muscle. The concept of Chas Chandler was re-imagined for the 2005 Warner Bros. film, Constantine. In the movie, Chas is still a teenager and his last name is Kramer, not Chandler. Shia LaBeouf played the role of Chas Kramer in the film. According to KSite, there are a pair of other characters currently being cast, named Liv and Manny. Those don't jive with anyone they (or we) can think of off the tops of our heads. The only likely candidate that pops up after a browsing of the DC Wiki is a member of the band Boojum named Liv, who appeared in the '90s supernatural superhero series Anima. It's probably equally likely that these are new characters created for the TV series, or perhaps fill-in characters for somebody the show doesn't have the rights to (like Zatanna and Nick Necro, Constantine's male/female supporting players in Justice League Dark #0, a flashback story to before he was the Hellblazer we all know). Constantine is expected to film fairly soon for a spot in NBC's fall 2014 pilot season.
