Earlier today, Skybound Entertainment released a series of images and solicitation text teasing the introduction of Daryl Dixon to The Walking Dead comic books in July.We covered it — skeptically — telling our readers that we believed it to be an elaborate April Fools’ Day joke directed at fans (and TV star Norman Reedus, who plays Daryl). The fake solicitation for July’s The Walking Dead #129, which used a modified version of an image of Dwight from The Walking Dead #98 (seen above), was paired up with a backdated blog post “teasing” the big announcement from last week. At the time of our previous story, the publisher was still trying to sell it as a big event (just in time for Comic-Con, don’t you know?).But then The Walking Dead Executive Producer Gale Anne Hurd asked Twitter for any fake news stories about The Walking Dead she could share with her readers. The result…?
@GunnerGale Glad you asked, Gale. https://t.co/d1jfrcZXVJ
