He’s been called the Man of Steel, the Man of Tomorrow, and The Last Son of Krypton, but Superman just earned a dubious new moniker: Most Toxic Superhero on the Internet.
The title was bestowed upon Superman by internet security company McAfee, who compiled their second annual list of most toxic superheroes. MacAfee researched which superheroes’ web presence resulted in the largest amount of bad links, including viruses, malware and sites laden with malicious software designed to steal passwords and personal information.
Superman takes the title from last year’s surprise “winner,” Aquaman, though it’s hardly a shocking given the amount of excitement surrounding 2016’s Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice sequel to Man of Steel. On the other hand, it’s a little surprising that Superman’s opponent, Batman, is so far behind him on the list.
