Peter Tomasi, current writer of Batman and Robin, will join artist Dough Mahnke as the new creative team of Superman/Wonder Woman, beginning with issue #13 according to USA Today.

Taking over Superman/Wonder Woman in November, alongside his continuing duties as writer of Batman and Robin, means that Tomasi will be writing all three members of the DC Comics' "Trinity" at the same time.

Superman/Wonder Woman will continue to focus on the romantic relationship between two of DC's most powerful and iconic heroes.

"I want to stare hard into the heart of both of these characters and their true love and see what that love means to us, the DC Universe and the people of Earth," Tomasi says. "Does it pose a danger or a threat? If two people like that are together and in love, where is the drama in that, and what repercussions does it have?"

The series will also reintroduce some classic DC Comics villains, including Atomic Skull and Major Disaster.

"Something wicked this way comes," Tomasi says. "It's really the initial salvo, and we'll see these characters are the shock troops — they're hitting the front line first, and there's a lot bigger stuff behind them."

Meanwhile, in November's Batman and Robin #36, Tomasi's "Robin Rises" arc continues, with Red Robin, Red Hood and Batgirl all teaming up and sporting new looks inspired by the late Damian Wayne.

"All of these characters at this point are in the Robin mix," Tomasi says. "The Bat-family will, in the end, rise to the challenge of helping a new Robin come to be in the DCU."

Superman/Wonder Woman #13 and Batman and Robin #36 go on sale in November.
