The mention came while Renner was lamenting his packed shooting schedule:
“There are rumblings of Captain America 3. I don’t know what’s going to happen there. I’ve got to find the time, man (laughs). I’m trying to stay home and I can’t.”
The details of Captain America 3‘s likely won’t be unveiled until well after the release of Avengers: Age of Ultron in 2015, but one can assume that it will involve Captain America trying to hunt down his old sidekick Bucky, now The Winter Soldier. Given Captain America and Hawkeye shared allegiance to both the Avengers and S.H.I.E.L.D., and that Hawkeye fits well into the world of both Cap and Bucky, it’s not too much of a stretch to imagine Clint Barton playing a role in Cap’s next adventure.
Captain America 3 will be released into theaters May 6, 2016.
