This comes, of course, on the heels of the original plan to debut the Age of Ultron trailer during the show — a plan that misfired because a low-resolution version of the trailer was leaked, and Marvel Studios ultimately decided to drop the official version early and give S.H.I.E.L.D. something else to make up for it instead.

Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. airs Tuesday nights at 9 p.m. ET/PT on ABC. Avengers: Age of Ultron opens May 1.
