Star Wars: The Force Awakens not only featured the return of Luke Skywalker, Leia Organa and Han Solo to the big screen, it also introduced a plethora of new Star Wars characters.While we’re still learning the identity of many of the new characters in The Force Awakens, many of the new faces seen in Star Wars: The Force Awakens may seem a little familiar to movie and TV buffs.Here’s a list of all the Star Wars: The Force Awakens cameos we’ve spotted so far:
Simon Pegg
He might play Montgomery “Scotty” Scott in the Star Trek reboot, but British actor Simon Pegg crossed company lines to appear in the new Star Wars film. Pegg played Unkar Plutt, the large alien scavenger boss who dealt out rations and sent several thugs after Rey to retrieve BB-8. Unkar also held the Millenium Falcon in his scrapyard, hiding under a tarp for years after Han Solo lost the trusty Corellian freighter.

Daniel Craig
As explained in greater detail here, Daniel Craig, the latest actor to play James Bond, had a cameo as a dull-witted stormtrooper susceptible to Rey’s fledgling Jedi mind trick.
Admiral Ackbar
You probably noticed Admiral Ackbar, the Mon Calamari military commander, assisting Leia Organa and the Resistance make plans to attack Starkiller Base. Tim Rose, the original puppeteer for the character, returned to play Ackbar, although it’s unclear who voiced the character. Fortunately, the First Order unleashed no traps for Ackbar to warn Resistance pilots about…this time.
Niem Numb
Lando Calrissian’s trusty co-pilot Niem Numb also appeared in The Force Awakens as a Resistance pilot. Not content with co-piloting the Millenium Falcon, Numb’s shown in full pilot’s gear and flew an X-Wing during the Resistance’s attack on Starkiller Base.
Bill Hader and Ben Schwartz
Bill Hader (of Saturday Night Live and Trainwreck fame) and Ben Schwartz (best known for playing Jean-Ralphio on Parks and Recreation) had one of the more unexpected cameos in The Force Awakens. The two provided the “voice” of BB-8, which JJ Abrams converted into beeps and whistles using a special sound effects app.
Greg Grunberg
We covered Heroes actor Greg Grunberg’s cameo in greater detail here, but he plays Resistance pilot Snap Wexley in the film.
Warwick Davis
While Wicket, the cuddly Ewok who helped the Rebel Alliance blow up the second Death Star in Return of the Jedi, didn’t appear in The Force Awakens, actor Warwick Davis returned to the Star Wars franchise to play Wolliver, a diminutive, snout-nosed alien at Maz Kanata’s bar.
Harriet Walter
Downton Abbey’s Lady Shackleton made a brief appearance as the doctor who tended to Chewbacca’s injuries at the Resistance Base. Walter’s had a long and illustrious career in British movies and television, appearing in Sense and Sensibility and Law and Order: UK. She’s also the niece of Christopher Lee, who played Count Dooku in Episodes II and III.
Billie Lourd
Carrie Fisher’s daughter Billie Lourd made a brief cameo in the Resistance base as a young assistant to Leia and other Rebel leaders. While her character wasn’t related to Princess Leia, she did sport one of Leia’s familiar hairstyles in honor of her real life mom.
Thomas Brodie-Sangster
Ferb’s turn to the Dark Side is complete. The young British actor best known for playing Jojen Reed in Game of Thrones and for voicing Ferb in Phineas and Ferb played a First Order officer with a single line of dialogue towards the end of the movie. Brodie-Sangster’s Ferb also turned to the Dark Side in the Phineas and Ferb Star Wars Special that aired earlier this year.
Jessica Henwick
Gwendolyn Christie and Brodie-Sangster aren’t the only Game of Thrones alum to appear in The Force Awakens. Jessica Henwick (who plays one of the Sand Snakes in Game of Thrones) appears as one of Poe Dameron’s X-Wing pilots during their attack on Starkiller Base.
Lin-Manuel Miranda
The creator and star of the hottest musical off-Broadway, Hamilton producer Lin-Manuel Miranda assisted JJ Abrams in conducting and performing the music heard at Maz’s bar. Miranda and Abrams sang the lyrics for the songs in Huttese.
