The CW announced today that they have ordered a full season of Arrow, rounding out the initial 13 that had already been promised to a full, 22-episode season. The series premiere for Arrow, based on the DC Comics superhero Green Arrow and starring Stephen Amell, Katie Cassidy and Willa Holland, was reportedly the highest-rated episode in three years, with viewership falling less than 20% week over week to last Wednesday’s episode. That put overall viewership for the drama at around 3.5 million, great numbers for a CW show and better than the Smallville season finale.TV Line, who first reported the pickup, also notes that the second episode lost some viewers but maintained its numbers in the key 18-49 demographic.”Best way to start a Monday? Getting picked up for your back nine episodes. Thwick,” tweeted Amell earlier today when he got the news.
