Marvels’ Avengers: Age of Ultron may break records held by the original Avengers in its opening weekend.
Major tracking firms are officially tracking Avengers: Age of Ultron for a $190 to $200 million opening weekend, which is shy of the original’s $207.4 million. However, these estimates are often adjusted upward as films draw closer to release and more presale data is available. Age of Ultron is already outpacing the original Avengers in sales via Fandango.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Avengers: Age of Ultron is pacing ahead of Avengers in nearly all categories, which suggests the sequel will beat the $207.4 million debut of the original.
If Avengers: Age of Ultron does surpass The Avengers in sales, it will officially be the biggest opening weekend box office in history, and even if the most conservative estimates are true, it’s still a big victory for Marvel and Disney.
Avengers: Age of Ultron opens May 1, 2015.
