Those who love the comic are likely to love the TV adaptation, provided it keeps a fraction of the same madcap energy, and that seems like such a gimme that it’s frankly kind of amazing the level of effort Fox has put into getting the animated series right–but the cast list, officially announced today, shows that they’re making the investment and taking the material—-well, let’s not say “seriously,” shall we? That would ruin it.Nick Offerman, who has voiced the character in a number of animated shorts but who was under exclusive contract with NBC, apparently until yesterday according to The Axe Cop Blog, who say he was willing to go forward with the show uncredited if they hadn’t been able to make a deal with NBC.
