While Coachella is known for their array of hip-hop, indie, and Americana music, it looks like the festival si going all-in on the musical diversity front in 2017.
According the official Coachella line-up released today, legendary composer Hans Zimmer will be performing live at the festival.
Zimmer is one of the most accomplished and beloved composers currently working in Hollywood, as he’s created the soundtracks for some of the industry’s biggest films. He composed the scores for The Lion King, A League Of Their Own, Pirates of The Caribbean, The Da Vinci Code, and many more. Zimmer became a household name with his work on Gladiator and Christopher Nolan movies such as Inception, The Dark Knight, and Interstellar.
Most recently, Zimmer has been praised for his colaborative work with Junkie XL to create the score for Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice. The music has received loads of critical acclaim since the film was released in February.
Zimmer is currently working on the score for Nolan’s latest film – Dunkirk, as well as the animated movie The Boss Baby.

Over the years, the composer has been nominated for the Best Original Score Academy Award nine times, but he has only taken the statue home once – this was for The Lion King in 1995.
It’s odd to see Hans Zimmer listed on the Coachella line-up when the headlining acts consist of Beyonce, Kendrick Lamar, and Radiohead. It’s nice however, to see someone with such an impressive film resume get recognition in the rest of the music world.
