In the midst of filming the R-rated Baywatch movie, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson — who plays charismatic leader ‘Mitch Buchannon’ —took a moment to pose with Alexandra Daddario (Percy Jackson, True Detective).

She’s playing ‘Summer,’ the role in which Nicole Eggert made famous in the popular television series (1989-1999). In the film, Summer will be portrayed as a young, upbeat, and naturally-skilled lifeguard that genuinely loves that her occupation allows her to save lives.
“She takes BAYWATCH to another level.. World fell in love with Alexandra Daddario in San Andreas and I was so impressed by her chops and presence every day, that I had to have her ‘rep the squad’ in our film,” Johnson wrote. “Just wait til you see her – and all our girls – kick ass and protect the bay.”
Seth Gordon (Horrible Bosses, Identity Theft) is directing the film, based on a script by Damian Shannon and Mark Swift. Baywatch is expected to land in theaters May 2017.
