In the first Despicable Me movie back in 2010, Gru’s eldest daughter Margo wore a shirt with an image of The Lorax on it. Of course, The Lorax shirt was an Easter Egg for Illumination Entertainment’s The Lorax movie, which was released in 2012.In Despicable Me 2, Margo had traded in her shirt featuring The Lorax for a new shirt featuring a rather unusual looking character. Margo’s shirt features a character with pointed ears, a big smile, and what looks to be a red siren on its head. We’re not entirely certain what this character is, but it looks like some type of cross between a futuristic happy elf and a Teletubby. Illumination Entertainment’s next movie is Minions set to be released in 2014, but there is another Untitled Illumination Animated 3D Project scheduled for 2015.Could whatever the character is on Margo’s shirt be an Easter Egg for Illumination Entertainment’s next movie franchise in 2015? Update: The character on Margo’s shirt has been identified by one of our readers as Wangan-Kun from the Japanese TV and movie series Bayside Shakedown. Illumination signed a strategic alliance with Fuji Television, which produces Bayside Shakedown, last year. While the Wangan-Kun Easter Egg in Despicable Me 2 could be an indication that Illumination plans to bring Bayside Shakedown to U.S. audiences, it could also just be a shout-out to Illumination’s alliance with Fuji Television.
