While it didn’t set any box office records, Dredd 3D was an absolute joy to watch–fun and action-packed with moments of humor, humanity and, of course, ultra-violence, it was easily one of the best comic book movies in a year full of them, and done for pennies on the dollar compared to the big Marvel and DC films.A big part of the film’s appeal was the gritty, visceral look of Mega City One, where Dredd makes his home.
